You’ve got a database you want to move or copy from, say, staging to production.
You’ve had HeidiSQL open for a while and now it’s time to go live.
You check your database in the left pane, then right click > Export database as SQL
You check off “drop” to make sure all the tables are gone in the destination db.
In the Output selection you choose Database > select the database you want to export directly to.
You click Export.
You try your site and errors all over the place!
What happened?!? The schema is wrong. Data is missing!
You forgot to refresh your view before doing your export.
I always like to close HeidiSQL, reconnect and then do my export. You should, too.
