You used to be able to click on the lock item and view the certificate details. This has been replaced with site specific information about local access to features such as cookies, location access, etc. You must now hit F12 for Developer Tools, then click the Security tab.
Google Chrome is great for easily managing credentials for the various sights you visit. For convenience, these passwords are stored in local file that you access through Chrome itself.
